 With the growing changes in the workplace and web environment Calgary Economic Development needed to transition from a Sun Ray thin client system. After investigating the needs, a Windows 7 workstation solution, deployed from a central image, was determined to be the best solution.   Deployment of all workstations and user transition was completed quickly and with little user interruption.   Since the completion of the initial project other initiatives have been implemented including a SharePoint 2010 intranet portal, kiosk computing center and server upgrades.

 

South Calgary Primary Care Network		 The South Calgary Primary Care Network (SCPCN) provides comprehensive primary care services to the population living in South Calgary. The SCPCN approached Northern Backup when their IT needs had grown passed their existing infrastructure and needed an overhaul. Northern Backup consulted and implemented a robust, scalable, and secure solution using Microsoft, VMware, and RSA technologies at our Hosted Co-location Centre. This project required a seamless migration of Active Directory, Exchange, file services, and other data; including, new requirements such as integrating 2-factor authentication using RSA hardware and software tokens. Along from offering our fully managed hosting services, we have continually addressed the business needs of the SCPCN, and produce new IT solutions using SharePoint 2010.

 

Pennant		 Pennant Capital Partners approached Northern Backup in the fall of 2010. They presented the upcoming business challanges facing the Exempt Market Dealers business. By January 1, 2011 the system went live. Northern Backup built a SharePoint 2010 hosted solution that is now in its second version to support the core business at Pennant. Some key features include, automatic contact and document generation, business intellegence dashboards, business process workflows. advanced reporting and payroll.
